Product Description
The Trixie wooden house is a small hideaway shelter designed for hamsters and other small rodents, constructed entirely without nails or metal fasteners for the safety of the animal. Measuring 15 cm in length, 12 cm in width, and 15 cm in height, the house provides a cosy enclosed space where hamsters can sleep, hide, and store food in a secure, private environment within their cage or enclosure.
The nail-free construction eliminates the risk of injury from exposed metal points that could harm small animals as they gnaw on and explore their habitat accessories. The house is made from untreated natural wood that is safe for animals to chew on, which is important because rodents have continuously growing teeth that require regular wear through gnawing behaviour. The joints are secured using wooden dowels, slots, or interlocking construction methods.
The house features a single entrance opening sized appropriately for hamsters, providing access while maintaining a sense of enclosure and security inside. The flat roof can serve as an elevated resting or observation platform for the hamster. The house can be placed directly on the cage bedding and moved or cleaned as needed. It is suitable for Syrian hamsters, dwarf hamsters, mice, and similarly sized small rodents. Over time, the wood will show signs of gnawing, which is normal and expected behaviour. The house should be replaced when chewing compromises its structural integrity.
